Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease. There is no evidence of widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the United States at this time. Without sustained human-to-human transmission, most American workers are not at significant risk of infection. COVID-19 is spread through close person to person contact (within 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes, these droplets land in the mouths or noses o f people who are nearby or possibly can be inhaled into the lungs. It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not the primary way the virus spreads.

Symptoms: can cause illness ranging from mild to severe and in some cases can be fatal. Symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Some cases have reported experiencing no symptoms at all.

Implement Basic Infection Prevention Measures:

  • Frequent hand washing for 30 or more seconds. If water is not available use alcohol-based hand sanitizers containing at least 60% alcohol.

  • Stay at home if sick seek prompt medical attention.

  • Respiratory Etiquette: cover coughs and sneezes. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose.

  • Limit use of others phones, desks, offices, and other work tools & equipment when possible. Keep door knobs disinfected (disinfecting wipes) as able.  No hand shaking or hugging as a common greeting. Make every effort to stay at least 6 feet from any other person

  • Maintain regular practices: cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, personal equipment, and able equipment if used.

  • At this time the President of the United States has asked that no one gather in any group larger than 10 people.

  • Cancel any non essential appointments and stay home unless it is necessary to leave home.
